CHANDLER, Elinor "Kay"

78 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Hearth and Home of Urbana.

Kay was born June 11, 1943, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of the late Prince and Alice (Maurice) Zerkle. She was a member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church. Kay was also a member of the Farm Bureau. She graduated from Graham High School. Kay enjoyed baking many cakes for the Champaign County Fair where she received numerous ribbons and memories. She also enjoyed making caramels for the church fundraiser each fall. Kay liked to travel and sightsee which included her favorite spots, Gatlinburg, TN, and Holmes County, Ohio. She enjoyed rooting for her favorite Ohio football teams, OSU and the Bengals. Kay's favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved decorating and had a tree in every room. She was famous for her delicious fried chicken, loved by everyone. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, friends and her church family.

Kay is survived by her son, Bryan (Connie) Chandler; grandchildren, Tawnie (Alexandra) Baranick and Conway (Tia) Hill; great-grandchildren, Rigby, Tenley, Ely, Devin and Andon; brother and sister, Karl (Sheryl) Zerkle and Kathleen Young as well as 6 nieces and nephews.

She had many special friends who she considered family, Teresa Jarboe, Bev McKinney, Mike and Lora Brown (Courtney) were just a few. She also had developed a special bond with the nurses and staff at Hearth and Home in Urbana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, whom was her high school sweetheart and married in 1961, Richard Chandler and brother-in-law, Phillip Young.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m on Thursday, November 18, 2021, in Terre Haute United

Methodist Church, 5899 High Street, Urbana, Ohio, with

Pastor Tim Lehman officiating.

Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
