CLEMENS, Matthew A.

Matthew A. Clemens, D.D.S., 64, died November 10, 2021. He was born on May 30, 1957, in Columbus, OH, to parents Dr. Ralph B. and Betty (nee Schwieterman) Clemens. Dr. Clemens was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School where he was a standout athlete, part of the Class A Football State Championship teams of 1973 and 1974. He earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University and his dental degree from Ohio State University. He joined his father's dental practice in 1983 and they practiced together for several years, before his father retired. Matt married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Marstall) Clemens in 1979 and together they raised four children, Benjamin Clemens, Sara (Robin) Harper, Christen (Jeffrey) Cryder, Jr. and Adam (Amy Brinkman)

Clemens. He was also blessed with three grandchildren,

Matthew Harper, Hannah Cryder, JoJo Harper and baby girl Cryder due in January. Matt is also survived by his sisters,

Cheryl (David) Callsen, Karen (Andrew) Fedders and Cathy

(Michael) Jakubow, two sisters-in-law, Melissa Gallagher and Joanne (Timothy) Bruggeman, his father's wife Patricia Sinn-Clemens, many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Visitation will be Wednesday November 17 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH 45044. A memorial mass will be Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11:00am at Holy Family Parish, Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark St., Middletown, OH 45042 with Father John Civille as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John XXIII Catholic School, 3806 Manchester Rd., Middletown, OH 45042 -OR- an animal charity of your choice.
