DeBrosse, Julie Marie

Julie Marie DeBrosse died peacefully Dec. 26, 2024 with the assistance of hospice care in Sun City Center, Fla. after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 82.

A Dayton native, DeBrosse devoted her life to young learners. She taught third-grade for a year at Immaculate Conception in Dayton and another 29 years at E.G. Shaw Elementary School in Beavercreek. She retired in 1995 and moved to Clearwater, Florida in 2009.

A devout Catholic, she graduated from Julienne High School (1960) and earned both her bachelor's degree (1965) and master's degree (1973) in education from the University of Dayton.

She is survived by her DeBrosse siblings: Richard (Jane) of Ruskin, Fla.; Thomas (Jean) of Beavercreek; James of Indianapolis ; sister-in-law Marion of Strongsville; eight nieces and nephews, and two grand nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles DeBrosse and her sister Kathleen Schamel.

Donations may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur or the Alzheimer's Association.
