Karen Fowkes, age 65, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. She was born May 10, 1955, in

Columbus, Ohio, to the late

Edward and Beatrice

Schoeneweiss. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Schoeneweiss. Karen lived a full life as a wonderful mother, wife, homemaker, and worker in the retail sales sector. She loved to bake, play cards, and loved animals of all kinds. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in everything she did and the simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. Her laughter and smile were

contagious to everyone she met. Most of all, she loved her family and was a devoted, fun-loving mother and wife, who always gave of her time and heart. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Karen will be missed by her loving husband of almost 43 years, Herbert "Chip" Fowkes;

daughter, Jennifer Fowkes; son, Michael "Mikey" (Kaley) Fowkes; grandchildren, Harper and River; sister, Pam (Paul) Palagyi; brother, Todd (Holly) Schoeneweiss; sister-in-law and best friend, Robin (Dave) Thomas and sister-in-law, Kristi South. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton.
