Hickman, Paul Brian
Paul Brian Hickman passed away January 2, 2025, at Otterbein Senior Living Community. He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa in August 1938. He moved to Portsmouth, Ohio as a teenager and graduated from Portsmouth High School. In 1956 he obtained his teaching degree at The Ohio State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of North Dakota, He taught science at McKinley Junior High School and at Shawnee State University.
Upon retirement he moved to Cheriton, Virgina where he completed his certification to be a Master Gardener. He also enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay. He returned to Ohio and lived in Kettering before moving to Otterbein. There he became involved in many of the activities offered such as becoming a member of their chair volleyball team, herb gardening and participating in their euchre club. He could often be found golf carting his neighbors around the campus.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Beth Hickman, a brother James Hickman, and his loving wife Joyce Hickman. He is survived by his brother, 2 daughters Cindy and Melanie Hickman, four stepchildren Geoff Current, Greg Current, Lisa Moore and Matt Current. He has several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
No calling hours or services are planned at this time. Per his request his body has been donated to Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Anatomical Gift Program.
