Horvath, Julie Claire

Julie Claire Horvath, age 91, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, was born July 1, 1933, to Mrs. Lorraine (nee Stomps) Horvath and Mr. Anthony G. Horvath of Dayton, Ohio. She died at Story Point in Grand Ledge on December 30, 2024. Julie was christened at Corpus Christi Church and into the Catholic faith on July 9, 1933. Julie attended Corpus Christi grade school and then the all-girls Julienne High School both in Dayton. She went on to earn a Home Economics degree from the University of Dayton. Julie then moved to Michigan where she worked for Whirlpool Corporation. She later earned a degree from Michigan State University that qualified her to work as a school guidance counselor. She then worked in the Waverly School District in Lansing, Michigan. After retirement, Julie spent time at her beloved Michigan, Houghton Lake cottage with friends, volunteered at St. Gerard's Church in the Lansing area, traveled and had many adventures. She enjoyed spending time with her sister, five brothers and their families who all remember her fondly. Julie was preceded in death by her parents Lorraine and Anthony Horvath, brothers Allen, Eugene, Roy, Carroll and Larry Horvath and sister, Gail Horvath. She is survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren. Julie's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Precious Blood Catholic Church (4961 Salem Ave., Dayton). Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
