JOHN M. "CHEF JACK" HOWE, 65, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He was born on May 2, 1955, in Springfield, the son of the late Russell J. and Eileen (Brennan) Howe. Jack was the Executive Chef at Casey's for 25 years and was famously known for his prime rib and bananas

foster. Prior Casey's he was a cook in Ft. Lauderdale and Sous Chef for the Springfield

Country Club. Following the closure of Casey's Restaurant, he continued his passion for cooking at the Buckeye Lodge, Ridgewood Café and most recently found his home at Sugar Valley Golf Club. Jack loved to visit the ocean and his weekend spot at Indian Lake. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rae Ann (Gettys) Howe, five daughters: Lesha Gettys,

Kimberly (Michael) Shope, Rachel (Justin) Allender, Shannon (Richard) White, and Tiffany (Michael) Byron; six grandchildren: Taylor Shope, Olivia and Jaxson Allender, Logan and Landon Byron, and Alexander White; three siblings: Rick

(Debra) Howe, Mary (Gene) Barnett, and Sue (Larry) Westfall; and several nieces, nephews, and many many friends. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Renee' Howe, and two brothers: Jerry and Terry Howe. Jack leaves a legacy of love, empathy, kindness, caring for others and his "big" heart. A memorial celebration of his life will be held on January 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. prior to the service.
