JONES, Robert N. "Rob"

ROBERT N. "ROB" JONES, 51, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born in Springfield on June 5, 1969, the son of Nick and Sandy (Brown) Jones. He served as an E-5 for eight years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Independence aircraft carrier during the Persian Gulf War. He then served for 21 years in the Ohio Air National Guard. He was a true patriot and loved his country wholeheartedly. He achieved a B.S. in accounting and finance from Wittenberg University and was working toward his M.B.A. Rob worked as an accounting manager for Navistar for the past 15 years. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and son. He had a deep faith in God and instilled that faith in his children and everyone else he touched. The impact on others because of his faith was genuine and powerful. Rob loved to hand out blessed rosaries. He brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. His family was everything to him and he was their rock. Rob and his family were member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Dayton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Julie A. (Algeo) Jones; children, Isabella and Isaac; mother-in-law, Karen Algeo; sisters, Monica (Brian) Barrett and Cindy (Tim) Sanders; brother-in-law, Ben (Susan) Algeo; and grandmother-in-law, Freida Mincer. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Siena, Nicole, Chris, Zach, Jenny, Chandler, Jessica, Breanne, Brett, Megan, Tyler, TJ, Sam, Tony and Crystal; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Algeo. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Face coverings and social distancing are strongly encouraged while at the visitation. A Traditional Latin Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 140 S. Findlay St., Dayton. Burial with military honors will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center, 1010 S.
