Koogler, Marvin Ray

On Thursday, December 26th, 2024, Marvin Ray Koogler, loving husband, and father of two sons, passed away at the age of 91, as a long-time resident of Troy, OH.

Marvin was born on April 23, 1933 in West Milton, OH to Paul Martin Koogler and Lotia Ruth Katherine (Blalack) Koogler, who preceded him in death respectively in 1971 and 1968.

Marvin graduated from Milton Union High School in 1951.

Marvin was a veteran of the Korean War being inducted into the U.S. Army in 1953, serving 2 years active duty and 6 years reserves, achieving the rank of Corporal, with an honorable discharge on May 21, 1961.

On July 22, 1962 he married MoVee Mishler and they were happily married 62 years. They raised two sons, Martin Henry (Carla) Koogler of San Ramon, CA and Bradley Ray Koogler of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Marvin received accounting degrees from Sinclair College in 1962 and Miami University (Ohio) in 1964.

In his professional life, Marvin worked for 20 years as the third generation included in the family business Koogler & Son Poultry, West Milton, OH started by his grandfather Karl and father Paul in 1925. After the family business, Marvin worked as an Accountant for General Motors Corporation/Delco Morain Division, Dayton OH for 28 years.

Marvin's passion was serving the needs of his immediate and extended family. Throughout his life, he lovingly cared for a multitude of family members including grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course his dear wife, two sons, and daughter-in-law. In addition, he showed loving concern for a multitude of high school classmates, workmates, and an extensive group of friends around the Troy area.

Marvin loved vacationing and fishing at the family's cabin in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Wisconsin, a tradition that extended over 50+ years.

His kind and compassionate spirit will be intensely missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3967 Washington Rd, Covington OH 45318-8738 at 2:30PM.
