Galen Myers age 88 of Englewood, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Danbury of Huber Heights. He was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School class of 1954. Galen retired from General Motors/Inland and later became a partner with Fre-Flo Distribution Inc. He also worked for many years for Bob Hogstrom Auctioneer. Galen had a "servant's heart" and volunteered many hours for Northmont F.I.S.H, Target Dayton-Homeless Ministries and Higher Ground Campground. He was also a man of Faith and devoted much of his time to church committees. Galen donated blood monthly to the local blood bank and was an avid bowler. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years: Viola (Brunk) Myers, son and daughter-in-law: Ben and Brenda Myers, daughters and son-in-law: Elaine (Bill) Edwards, Cynthia Garverick, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, other relatives and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Emily (Hangen) Myers, father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Alice Brunk, and son-in-law: James Garverick. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Danbury of Huber Heights for the wonderful care and compassion given to Galen and for making him feel at home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Englewood. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
