Nickols, Clark Lee
Beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the age of 77. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Ray Nickols and Lennie Birdice (Malone) Nickols, and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Suzanne Marie (Miller) Nickols; sons Brian Patrick and Craig Michael Nickols; daughters Nicole Marie (Stephen) and Kelly Lynn Nickols; siblings Fred and Andrew Nickols, and Sandra (Craig) Wales; and many nieces and nephews. Clark was born in Berwyn, Illinois. He grew up on the family's Triple N Farm in Fayetteville, Ohio. A graduate of Blanchester High School and the University of Cincinnati, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Clark earned a degree in mechanical engineering and built a respected career, retiring as a Laboratory Supervisor at the University of Dayton in 2023. Clark cherished his family. He enjoyed fishing, shooting and his Tennessee Walking Horses. A devout Catholic, he converted in 1987 and wore his faith proudly. Despite life's challenges, including his daughter Kelly's Rett Syndrome diagnosis and his own health battles, Clark faced adversity with quiet strength and unwavering love for his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind and warm with everyone he encountered. His presence and love will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek. A funeral mass will follow on January 21 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation or Vietnam Veterans of America.
