REHG, Virgil R.

Age 94, passed away on

January 18, 2021, due to COVID-19. Born in St. Louis, MO, to Richard and Rose Rehg (Cange) on December 21, 1926, he was one of four children. Wonderful son, brother, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he was loved by all who knew him. Blessed with an abundance of patience, love, creativity, compassion, and a great laugh, dad's quiet calmness carried him through raising seven children with wife Eileen, whom he adored to the end of 69 years of marriage. Tireless teacher (37 years) for the Air Force Institute of Technology, and volunteer for many local charities, dad had a zest for life, a love of learning, and a

passion for helping others. He is preceded in death by his

parents, Richard and Rose Rehg (Cange); sister, Virginia Drewing; daughter, Ellen Rehg; and granddaughter, Dyan Rehg. He is survived by his wife, Eileen M. Rehg (Downes); his sons, William (Society of Jesus), John (Chi), Michael (Bibiana), Paul (Joann); and daughters, Anne (Kevin) Degnan and

Carolyn (Sean) Weiss; as well as 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Doris Thone; brother, James (Marci); sister-in-law, Alice Jean Adcock; brother-in-law, John Downes; and many nieces and nephews. We all miss him. For a full obituary please visit www.shirleybrothers.com.
