SLOAN, James Lloyd

Age 86, was "promoted to heaven" on Tuesday, December 2020, at his residence. He was born January 2, 1934, in Marengo, Indiana, the first born of Lloyd and Gladys (Thompson) Sloan. James graduated from Graceland College and served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in Germany and used this adventure to see many of the sights in Europe. He had resided in Middletown for 10 years. He was a very successful businessman and was a talented writer for his friends' and family's enjoyment. He was a man of faith, kind and generous with a wonderful sense of humor! James was a fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Reds. Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Scott Sloan. His survivors include the "love of his life" Carol (thank you for 10 wonderful years); his sons, Greg (Jan) Sloan, Brad Sloan, Clark Sloan and Doug Sloan (he was so proud of them);and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister,

Anita Gay; and brother, Ron (Pat); and many more precious friends and family. A Private Service will be held, followed by interment with Military Honors at Woodside Cemetery.
