Trainer, Gladys Marie
Gladys Marie (Dailey) Trainer, 90, went to be with the Lord in the early morning of Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by her close family. Gladys was born to Sanford and Lottie (Overholser) Dailey in New Carlisle, and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1952. She married Richard Trainer who passed in 1986. Gladys is survived by two children, David Trainer of Huber Heights, and Christa Trainer-Fisher (Dave) of Beavercreek, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Megan. She is pre-deceased by two children, Gina Trainer and Tim Rader, and sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and John Rogers. Gladys enjoyed her long-time relationships with Diane Garber-Cardwell, Dayton Garber, Gini Garber, who passed in 2017, David Garber, Kathy Wallace, and daughter-in-law, Tamela Rader. Gladys lived her life with a strong Christian faith, participated in many church activities, and taught Sunday school. She was gifted with a beautiful, soprano voice, and her most favorite song to sing was "How Great Thou Art." Throughout her life, she was a name-requested soloist at church events and revivals. She was active in her children's school and local community activities, including home room mom, parent-teacher organization president, 4-H leader/advisor, and the American Legion's Auxiliary. Gladys loved to do word circle puzzles and eat popcorn. Gladys retired from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She studied Social Work at Ohio University in Athens. Gladys' joyous attitude and infectious laughter will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Gladys' family wants to send appreciation to the amazing staff at Springfield Masonic Home, for their outstanding care during the past 10 years. The family also wants to send appreciation to the staff at Crossroads for their special and immediate support during her last days. A visitation will be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 1-2pm, with a private graveside service to follow.
