The cat adoption center and coffee shop hosts a variety of art shows, canvas painting sessions and other events where wine and drinks like mimosas would be appropriate.

“When Son of a Biscuit food truck is here for brunch, having a mimosa on the patio would be a nice thing,” Johnson said. “Or if you are having a bad Monday, adding Bailey’s to your coffee will help.”
The business just obtained a license to serve wine and pre-mixed packaged cocktails from the Ohio Department of Liquor Control.
Its D-2 license does not permit the sale of beer or full-powered bartender-made cocktails.

Opened in January, The Gem City Catfe will host celebrity cat Lil BUB on Nov. 4 for a special presentation and meet and greet. The event will benefit its nonprofit, Gem City Kitties.

Johnson said Gem City Catfe will continue to have a lounge and coffee shop feel.
“We will be making more specialty cocktail sort of things that will fit with the environment,” she said.

The names of the drinks will be kept simple to make it easy for patrons to order.
