However, thanks to a handful of local drive-in movie theaters, those in the Miami Valley can now enjoy their favorite movies from the safety of their cars. Aside from quenching a thirst for cinema, drive-in theaters also provide a fun, nostalgic experience that is reminiscent of summers past.

📽🍿Dixie Twin Drive-In
This drive-in sticks to a traditional 1950s aesthetic and has two screens, one 120’ by 52’ and the other 100’ by 65’. The grounds are tree enclosed and fit 900 vehicles comfortably.
The drive-in will be open from Tuesday through Sunday each week, with showtimes announced approximately a week before they premiere at Dixie Twin Drive-In.
Concession stands will still be open, but guests are encouraged to keep their social distance. All employees will be wearing masks, as well.

Hours: Now open for the season. Open Tuesday through Sunday. Box office opens one hour prior to start time.

📽🍿Melody 49 Drive-In
This drive-in is now featuring all digital movies on two screens and re-opens on Friday, May 29.
Where: 7606 Pleasant-Plain Road, Brookville
Hours: Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This 60-year-old drive-in is home to one screen and 850 car spots. Holiday Auto Theatre is open every day throughout the week, except for days that the venue hosts private events. To ensure that all customers remain safe during their time at the drive-in, the Holiday Auto Theatre is operating at 50 percent capacity and grassy areas that served as gathering places prior to the pandemic are now off limits. The Sidney Auto-vue Drive-In will re-open to the public beginning on Friday, June 5. Showtimes for the opening weekend have yet to be announced. The drive-in will be offering online concession ordering through the FanFood app to limit contact at the concession stands. Additionally, to allow for social distancing, the drive-in will be operating at 50 percent capacity. In the meantime, the Sidney Auto-vue Drive-In will be working with the health department to ensure that all precautions possible are put in to place to keep customers safe.

The Starlight Drive-In, located in Maria Stein, will also be opening to the public on Friday, June 5. That weekend, the drive-in will be showing “Trolls World Tour.” The show will begin at dusk. The box office opens at 8:45 p.m.

📽🍿Starlite Drive-In (Amelia)
Since May 1, the Starlite Drive-In in Amelia (located just outside of Cincinnati) has been open to the public. To ensure the safety of their guests, the drive-in has implemented new policies, like online ordering for movie tickets and concession stand food, that make it easier to avoid contact with others.
