One Dayton area restaurant serves just that by the tray, and you can eat to your heart's content.
Rob's Hot Bar at Rob's Restaurant features home-style grub that will have you thinking about chilling in front of the family hearth.

WHAT THEY HAVE
Dishes on my recent visited included creamy mashed potatoes, cabbage rolls, sauerkraut sausage, fried shrimp, baked fish, green beans, pork chops and crowd favorites chicken dumplings, fried chicken, beef and noodles, and turkey.
The restaurant can also has a full menu featuring sandwiches, Italian favorites like pizza, baked lasagna, and manicotti; and a list of dinners that include fried, grilled and charbroiled chicken and chopped sirloin steak. There was a full salad bar with an assortment of veggies and pasta salads.
And let's not forget the desserts.
Christopher Weeks, Rob's night manager, said the pecan pie and apple dumplings are big hits. He said Rob's cooks and seasons its food.
"Variety, customer service, freshness and quality of our food" is what sets it apart, Weeks said.

Originally opened in Huber Heights in 1976, the restaurant was relocated to Englewood.
Weeks said it has been in Brookville since 1995.
Current owner Joe Swartztrauber bought it in 2002 from Bob Kilgore.
