When you discover something unique and delicious no one else in the Dayton area seems to be making, you face a dilemma. Do you tell everyone you know about it or keep it to yourself?

Luckily for you, I'm telling you about a menu item that only regulars of Beavercreek Pizza Dive at 4021 Dayton Xenia Rd. are hip to.

“We’re the pizza place Beavercreek built,” co-owner Teresa Geraci said of the business she and her husband, J.R., started nine years ago. “When you’re (a mom-and-pop business), you really appreciate every single customer.”

Beavercreek Pizza Dive's pizza is fresh and delicious, but save room for dessert.

Beavercreek Pizza Dive has endured a recession, road construction that took their sign down, and even more construction. But they keep chugging along with Monday night pizza buffets, a charitable commitment to their community and great food.

Of course, you can expect pizza, made with fresh dough and homemade sauce, as well as oven-baked sandwiches and the like. But you really should save some room for dessert -- the cinnamon sugar pretzels.

Liberal amounts of cinnamon and sugar go on every dessert pretzel at Beavercreek Pizza Dive.

Like their pizzas, Beavercreek Pizza Dive starts with fresh dough made in house. Each pretzel -- both regular and dessert varieties -- are hand made and dipped in a wash of secret ingredients before baking. The dessert pretzels are then dipped in real butter before being covered with liberal amounts of cinnamon and sugar. But it doesn’t end there, because each pretzel is accompanied with a sinfully decadent and rich cream cheese frosting.

The result is a sweet treat you don’t mind getting your fingers messy for. The pretzels are big enough you could easily split one with a friend, or keep it all to yourself. Make sure to get them right when they come out of the oven, or heat them up later.
