Winter doesn’t have to mean boredom.

There are few things more fun than catching some air on a hill perfectly coated in snow.

Whether you're looking to get away for the day or just a few hours, here are the best places a short drive from Dayton to spend the day (or night) snow tubing.

❄️Snow Tubing at the Avalanche Tubing Park at Mad River Mountain
Located at Mad River Mountain, the Avalanche Tubing Park is Ohio's largest snow tubing park. The park offers up to 10 lanes stretching over 1,000 feet with two magic carpet conveyor lifts, a snack bar, an outdoor fire pit and a lodge if you need to warm up.

WHERE: 1000 Snow Valley Road, Zanesfield

WHEN: Opens for the season Dec. 21, 2019. Open Thursdays to Sundays and during select holiday periods and Christmas and New Year's Week, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and Presidents Day weekend.

COST: $25 for three hours. A limited number of passes are available each day. It is recommended to arrive early in the morning or late in the evening hours. Mid-day periods tend to be its highest volume and most likely to sell out. Hours vary. Check schedule.

❄️Perfect North Slopes
Located just outside of Ohio across the border in Indiana is one of the largest tubing areas in the country. Enjoy the 23 lanes extending down a 1,200-foot snowy run. The tubing park is definitely worth the drive for a day of family fun. Choose from 23 lanes including our super lanes which allow for your entire family or group to go down together. Note, wait times can be long.

❄️Vertical Descent Tubing Park at Snow Trails

There’s a lot that makes Snow Trails stand out in this list. One of the biggest reasons is “Glow Tubing” happening nightly Thursday through Sunday every week.

Snow Trails is one of the longest tubing lanes in Ohio stretching 1,100 feet in total length. The park is complete with 6 lanes and an outdoor snack bar, restrooms, fire pit and a panoramic view. The glide down the snowy chutes provides fun for the entire family.

Glow tubing begins at 6 p.m. each night of the week, and tickets go on sale once the opening day is confirmed. Guests can purchase two-hour passes to go glow tubing.
