2018 recruit puts Dayton in final three

Anthony Nelson, a 2018 recruit who took an official visit to the University of Dayton in September, cut his list of schools from five to three on Wednesday, according to a report by Julius Kim, of ElevateHoops.com.

Nelson will pick either Dayton, Seton Hall and Minnesota. He has visited Dayton and Seton Hall and will visit Minnesota on Oct. 13, Kim reported.

Nelson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Harlem, N.Y., is a senior at the South Kent Preparatory School (Conn.). He previously had Clemson and West Virginia in his final five.

ESPN gives Nelson a four-star ranking and ranks him No. 29 among shooting guard in the class of 2018.

Dayton filled one 2018 scholarship when guard Dwayne Cohill announced his verbal commitment. Dayton will have one more scholarship open if suspended forward Sam Miller doesn't return to the program.
