"My dream was always to play in front of my mom and my dad, and my whole family," he told The New York Post. "This was a great option for me."

Alexander, a 5-foot-11 point guard from Our Saviour Lutheran School in Bronx, N.Y., ranks 105th in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.com. Rivals.com ranks him 124th.

Alexander was also considering Illinois, Pittsburgh and Seton Hall.

Dayton has one commitment from the 2020 class. Lukas Frazier, a 6-foot-4 guard from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, announced his verbal commitment in June.

Dayton has two scholarships open in 2019 and two opening in 2020, one of which Frazier will fill.
