The Dayton Flyers earned the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament and will play No. 10 Rhode Island in the second round at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The A-10 released the bracket Monday night after the final three games of the regular season. Dayton climbed from the No. 8 spot to No. 7 by beating St. Bonaventure 55-52 in Olean, N.Y., and then seeing Richmond lose 76-73 at home to Saint Joseph’s.

Dayton (13-8, 9-7) and Rhode Island (10-14, 7-1) will play at Virginia Commonwealth’s Siegel Center on Thursday. The winner will play No. 2 seed VCU (17-6, 10-4) on its home court in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

This will be the third meeting between Dayton and Rhode Island. Dayton won 67-56 on Jan. 30 at UD Arena. Rhode Island won 91-89 in double overtime Feb. 16 in Kingston, R.I. That was Rhode Island’s only victory in its last seven games of the regular season.

The other teams on Dayton’s side of the bracket are No. 3 seed Davidson, No. 6 George Mason, No. 11 George Washington and No. 14 Fordham.

St. Bonaventure earned the No. 1 seed and will play No. 8 Richmond or No. 9 Duquesne in the quarterfinals.

The tournament starts Wednesday with No. 12 La Salle playing No. 13 Saint Joseph’s at 11 a.m. and then George Washington playing Fordham. Those games will be televised on ESPN+.

The four-second round games Thursday and four quarterfinal games Friday will all be on the NBC Sports Network. CBS Sports Network will televise the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. semifinals on Saturday. The championship game will take place at 1 p.m. on March 14 at UD Arena and will be broadcast by CBS.
