Alter sophomore receives scholarship offer from Ohio State

Alter High School sophomore C.J. Hicks announced Tuesday he received a scholarship offer from Ohio State.

Hicks, a 6-foot-4, 202-pound defensive back, is a four-star recruit who ranks third in Ohio’s class of 2022. He has received offers from numerous schools, including Cincinnati, Notre Dame and the University of Miami.

Hicks recorded 48 tackles last season for Alter. He drew recruiting interest early in his career. Going into last summer, he already had offers from Kent State, Ohio, Cincinnati, Troy, Akron, Marshall, Iowa, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, N.C. State and Miami (Fla.).
