Another former Dayton Flyer joins Broad Street roster in The Basketball Tournament

Team starts play July 14 in Los Angeles

Jordan Sibert joined the roster of the Broad Street Brawlers on Thursday and will play with three other former Dayton Flyers in The Basketball Tournament in July.

Devin Oliver, Vee Sanford and Dyshawn Pierre played for the Brawlers last year in the $2 million, winner-takes-all, single-elimination event and announced in May they would return to the team. This year, Sibert joins them.

All four players were key members of Dayton’s 2014 Elite Eight team. They combined to score 4,111 points in their careers at Dayton: Pierre (1,423 points) and Oliver (923) played four seasons at Dayton. Sibert (1,030) and and Sanford (735) played two seasons after starting their careers at Ohio State and Georgetown, respectively.

Broad Street’s roster also includes: Justin Harper and Darrius Garrett (Richmond); Justin Edwards (Kansas State); Gabe York (Arizona); Carl Baptiste (Delaware); Sek Henry (Nebraska); and Jake Lerner (Drexel).

The Brawlers are a No. 10 seed in the West Region and play their first-round game July 14 in Los Angeles. The game will be televised on ESPN3.

Sibert, Oliver, Pierre and Sanford have all continued their basketball careers in Europe.

Sibert played in Germany last season. He averaged 12.2 points per game in 19games for Mitteldeutscher BC Weissenfels. He then moved to the Fraport Skyliners. He averaged 5.0 points in 16 games.

Oliver played for Petrol Olimpija the last two seasons in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and helped lead the team to two championships. He averaged 13.2 points and 7.3 rebounds last season. He'll play in Turkey next season.

Sanford played in France for the Antibes Sharks this season. He averaged 14.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Pierre played for Dinamo Sassari in Italy this season. He averaged 7.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
