Rocky Fork: Bass fishing has been steady off of points and channel banks. Look for wood and fish 4 to 7 feet deep with crankbaits or June-bug color worms. Saugeyes are being caught off of the north and south beaches and around the island, but many are short. Troll with crawler harnesses or chartreuse/red fleck twisters tipped with a piece of nightcrawler. Or try casting with a Shad-rap.
Paint Creek Lake: Crappies are 3 to 6 feet deep around structure. Use minnows or any jig with chartreuse in it. Try fishing on the flats near the campground ramp to catch channel cats on nightcrawlers, chicken liver, cut bait or chubs. Bass fishing has been best around rocky points 3 to 7 feet deep with green/pumpkin worms. Spillway fishing has been good for saugeyes. Use twisters or large minnows under a bobber.
Indian Lake: Plenty of saugeyes are being caught all over the lake. You'll catch two small fish for every keeper. Good spots have been around bridges and channel mouths and in front of the south bank. Troll with crawler harnesses or Flicker Shad. Bass are in and around lily pads, hitting plastic frogs. Crappies are around rocks and docks, hitting minnows. White bass are being caught off of Moundwood and by the covered bridge.
Acton Lake: Crappie fishing has been very good, but 75 percent of the fish you catch will be under the 9-inch size limit. Fish 8 to 10 feet deep around brush and trees to catch larger crappies with minnows. Bass are hitting plastics and chartreuse/silver spinner baits along the banks around wood. For saugeyes, fish the points with nightcrawler harnesses, bass minnows and brightly colored jigs and twisters (orange and chartreuse). Catfish are hitting nightcrawlers, chubs and chicken liver. Bluegills like crickets and waxworms.
Lake Loramie: Bluegill fishing has been hot. Use waxworms, redworms or spikes on an ice jig and fish around rocks along the banks. Crappie fishing has been good, but most fish are small. You'll have to do plenty of sorting. Fish in the brush and pads with minnows and jigs early and late. Catfish have been hitting crappie minnows and nightcrawlers. Bass fishing has been good along the banks and rocks. They're still catching saugeyes in the spillway on twisters.
Caesar Creek Lake: Smaller crappies are shallow, but the larger fish have moved back to deep water, about 15 feet around sunken trees and other structure. Work the mouths of coves with minnows. Bluegills are around the stickups, about 8 feet deep, hitting waxworms and redworms. For saugeyes, try jigging on the flats with nightcrawlers or troll around the island with a spinnerbait or crankbait. Bass are still fairly tight to the banks, hitting plastics and crankbaits. White bass are in the main lake; look for the jumps.
Cowan Lake: Saugeye fishing has been hot. Anglers are casting off the banks with large minnows and nightcrawlers. Crappies are hitting minnows on the north side of the lake. Look for drop-offs and other structure. Bluegills are hitting waxworms in the brush. Bass fishing has been good along the banks with crankbaits.
Lake Erie: Walleye fishing has been very good. Anglers are working around B and C cans at the Camp Perry firing range, Niagara Reef, Green Island, northwest of South Bass Island and north of Kelleys Island Shoal. Smallmouth bass have been hitting green tubes in about 20 feet of water around the islands.
