During his 11-year NBA career, Paxson averaged 7.2 points a game. Paxson picked up his game in the postseason, as he averaged over 10 points a game the three postseasons that Chicago won.
After Paxson graduated from Alter, he went to Notre Dame and was twice named as an All-American. He was drafted 19th overall by San Antonio in the NBA Draft. After two years with the Spurs, he spent nine years alongside Michael Jordan in Chicago.
Paxson later went on to be an assistant coach for the Bulls before becoming their general manager.
