“We look forward to visiting with the players from the 1988 Super Bowl team,” team owner and president Mike Brown said in a statement. “That was a very exciting season, and we had a great run. The players on that team will always be special to our fans and me.”
The Bengals started that season 6-0 before finishing 12-4 to earn the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They led the San Francisco 49ers with less than a minute to play in Super Bowl XXIII before Joe Montana hit John Taylor with the game winning touchdown pass with 34 seconds remaining for a 20-16 victory.
Prior to the 8:20 p.m. kickoff Sept. 13, fans will have a chance to meet the players and get autographs in the Jungle Zone from 6-7 p.m.
