“I’m over it now, and I’m going to discipline myself the way I need to be and I’m going to learn from it,” Woodside added.

Woodside was arrested at 3:46 a.m. Saturday morning in Bellevue, Ky., after an officer pulled him over for going 10 miles over the speed limit and noticed he was impaired. According to court records, Woodside’s blood alcohol content level was 0.112, which was above the legal limit of 0.08 in Kentucky.
Often times teams don’t hesitate to cut ties with a young player at the back end of the roster after that sort of incident, but Woodside participated in all three days of Bengals minicamp this week and even got his first 11-on-11 reps after not getting any in the three weeks of OTA practices before the arrest.

“I’m very grateful,” Woodside said. “I think that coach Lewis really cares about me. He cares about all the players. And now I’m going to do everything I can to show him I want to be on this team.”
Woodside said he was encouraged by his performance during the minicamp.

“I think it went pretty good,” he said. “I didn’t get a ton of reps obviously, but you know that’s going to be the case as a rookie. I think I definitely learned a lot in the back with coach (Dan) Pitcher. He’s helped me out a ton with just getting the play calls and that sort of thing. It’s all mental reps at this point, which I need.”
