The Cincinnati Bengals bolstered their defense Thursday with the signing of free agent cornerback B.W. Webb to a three-year contract.

Webb spent the 2018 season with the New York Giants, where his position coach was Lou Anamuro, the Bengals’ new defensive coordinator. Webb played in all 16 games for the Giants, collecting 59 tackles, one sack and one interception with six passes defensed.

Entering his sixth season, Webb was a fourth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2013. Since then, he’s also spent time with Pittsburgh (2014), Tennessee (2015), New Orleans (2016) and Cleveland (2017). Webb has started 23 of 65 career games, with 127 tackles, 20 passes defensed and three interceptions.

Webb is the first player not on the 2018 roster the Bengals have signed since free agency began. Bobby Hart, Preston Brown and C.J. Uzomah signed three-year deals this week to stay with Cincinnati.
