The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed free agent kicker Randy Bullock to a two-year contract today.

Bullock, who would have become an unrestricted free agent on March 9, signed with the Bengals on Dec. 13, after the team released veteran Mike Nugent. Bullock made 5 of 6 field goals in three games with the Bengals, with the lone miss coming on a 43-yard, game-winning attempt in Houston on Dec. 24.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said there would be an open competition for the kicking job in training camp, and today's signing gives the team its second participant after Jonathan Brown agreed to a Reserve/Future contract last week .

Bullock is a six-year veteran who had made 82 of 103 career field goal attempts (81.4 percent) and 97 of 101 extra points (96.0). Since the NFL moved the extra point back to the 33-yard distance, he is 28 of 30 (93.3).

He entered the league in 2012 as a fifth-round pick of the Texans and has appeared in 48 games with Houston, Pittsburgh and the New York Giants.
