Brian Roberts to join UD Hall of Fame on Saturday

Dayton’s fourth all-time leading scorer one of four Flyers to be honored

Former Dayton Flyers star Brian Roberts will be inducted into the UD Hall of Fame on Saturday along with three other former Flyers: Faye Barhorst Barlage (volleyball), Walt DeAnna (hockey) and Erin Showalter Justice (soccer). They will be honored at halftime of Dayton’s 2 p.m. game against St. Bonaventure at UD Arena.

Roberts played for the Flyers from 2004-08 and is the fourth-leading scorer in school history (1,962 points). He’s in his fifth season in the NBA and in his second stint with the Charlotte Hornets. He has appeared in 20 games this season. He’s averaging 2.6 points in 7.3 minutes per game.

Barlage, a 2007 graduate, was a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. She holds the career records for kills (1,796), solo blocks (173) and block assists (495).

DeAnna coached the Dayton hockey team for 22 years and compiled a record of 211-107-16. More than 100 of DeAnna’s former players will attend the hall of fame ceremony. According to UD, it will be the largest group of people to show up for one athlete’s induction.

Justice, a 2004 graduate, was a two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Year who played in three NCAA tournaments.
