Browns trade down, get Utah linebacker

On day two of the NFL draft tonight, the Cleveland Browns traded down with Houston from No. 43 to No. 51 in the second round, then selected Utah linebacker Nate Orchard at that spot.

The Browns also gave up a seventh-round pick (No. 229 overall) and acquired No. 116 (fourth round) and No. 195 (sixth round) from the Texans.

If the Browns make all the selections, it will give them 11 picks, including three in the fourth round (Nos. 111, 115 and 116).

With the No. 43 pick, the Texans selected linebacker Benadrick McKinney from Mississippi State.

Some players available at No. 43 included Arizona State wide receiver Jaelen Strong and Minnesota tight end Maxx Williams, but the Browns elected to bolster their linebacker corps.

Thursday, the Browns used their first-round picks on Washington nose tackle Danny Shelton at No. 12 overall and offensive lineman Cameron Erving at No. 19.
