Cincinnati Bengals acquire quarterback on waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals acquired quarterback Brad Kaaya on waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.

Kaaya, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, was a sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft. As a rookie he spent time with the Lions, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts.

Kaaya spent the entire 2018 season on the Colts injured reserve list. They waived him Friday.

New Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan was with the Lions as quarterbacks coach when they drafted Kaaya out of the University of Miami.

A three-year starter for the Hurricanes, Kaaya passed for 9,968 yards and 69 touchdowns.
