Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins is a Pro Bowler again.

The NFL on Tuesday announced Atkins has been voted to the AFC team for this season’s Pro Bowl.

“It’s an honor to be named to the Pro Bowl and Geno is very deserving,” said Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said in a release. “Geno has put together another strong season and continues to show why he is one of the best defensive players in the league.”

It’s the eighth career Pro Bowl nod for Atkins, the most ever by a Bengals defensive player and second most in team history behind Hall of Fame offensive tackle Anthony Munoz (11).

Atkins has 42 tackles this season, including 4.5 tackles and 4 tackles for losses.

Running back Joe Mixon was voted a fifth alternate at running back and safety Brandon Wilson (injured reserved) was voted a second alternate as a kick returner.

Alternates are added to the game if voted player(s) in their position group are unable to participate. Selections from the two teams reaching the Super Bowl will be among those unable to play, as will players who are not cleared due to injury.

The 2020 Pro Bowl is set for Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
