The Cincinnati Reds on Thursday acquired outfielder Travis Jankowski from the San Diego Padres in exchange for International Cap Space.

Jankowski, 28, played in parts of the last five seasons with the Padres. He was limited to 25 games last season due to a broken wrist suffered in spring training. Jankowski led the Padres with 24 stolen bases in 2018 and stole 30 bases in 2016.

“Travis is a plus runner and above average defender with Major League experience,” Reds President of Baseball Operations Dick Williams said in a release. “He handles the bat and bunts well and has shown an ability to get on base. He should provide us with good depth at all three outfield positions.”

A first-round pick by the Padres in 2012, Jankowski has played all three outfield positions. He is a career .245 hitter.

In other roster moves Thursday, shortstop Jose Iglesias and left-handed pitcher Alex Wood became free agents.
