“Travis is a plus runner and above average defender with Major League experience,” Reds President of Baseball Operations Dick Williams said in a release. “He handles the bat and bunts well and has shown an ability to get on base. He should provide us with good depth at all three outfield positions.”
A first-round pick by the Padres in 2012, Jankowski has played all three outfield positions. He is a career .245 hitter.
In other roster moves Thursday, shortstop Jose Iglesias and left-handed pitcher Alex Wood became free agents.
