Cincinnati Reds send another rookie starter to Triple-A

The Cincinnati Reds optioned starting pitcher Rookie Davis to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday and will make a corresponding roster move before the start of their series against the Giants in San Francisco on Thursday.

Davis, a rookie right-hander, struggled in his last start Monday, giving up four earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings in a 10-4 loss to the New York Yankees.

Davis was scheduled to start Saturday against the Giants. He’s 1-2 with a 7.58 ERA in five starts.

Davis is the second rookie sent to Louisville this week. Amir Garrett was optioned to Triple-A on Sunday.
