MUM women score another win

The Miami University Middletown women’s basketball team defeated the University of Cincinnati Clermont 72-67 on Wednesday, recording their second road win in five days and their sixth straight victory overall.

MUM was led by Brianne Thornton, 19 points; Kristen Washington, 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Megan Costa, 10 points.

Tiffany Kossler and Ashley Heazrd each hit two crucial 3-point baskets for the Thunderhawks.

Swimmers sign with RedHawks

OXFORD — Miami University women’s swimming and diving team has signed eight athletes to letters of intent, including Sara Krueger of Cincinnati and Natalie Rohr of Kettering.

Krueger is a senior captain at McAuley, a three-time state qualifier who holds the school record in the 50 freestyle.

Rohr, a senior at Fairmont, holds the school record in the 50 and 100 frees. Her sister, Brittney, is a senior swimmer at Miami.

The other signees are Shannon Ahearn, Trumbull, Conn.; Aubrey Kluth, Noblesville, Ind.; Hope Mitchell, Mansfield; Kelly Rogers, Louisville, Ky.; Emma Szczupakiewicz, Muskego, Wis.; and Gabby Veri, Columbus.
