Mo Njie is headed to the MAC next season.

The Centerville High School grad announced this week he has verbally committed to Eastern Michigan after spending a year at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Njie, a 6-9, 230-pound forward, averaged 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds as a senior for the Elks in 2019-20.

He’ll join former Xenia star Samari Curtis and Springfield standout Raheim Moss in the MAC. Curtis transferred to Bowling Green in April after playing for Evansville last season while Moss is on the Toledo roster after a year of prep school at Spire Academy in northeast Ohio.

Other Division I men’s basketball players from the area include Torrey Patton (Trotwood-Madison) and Deshon Parker (Wayne) at Cleveland State, Caleb McConnell (Dunbar) at Rutgers, Justin Ahrens (Versailles) at Ohio State, Darius Quisenberry (Wayne) at Fordham, Andre Gordon (Sidney) at Texas A&M and Amari Davis (Trotwood-Madison) at Missouri.
