About Wright State: The Raiders have a tough task in trying to win the league crown, but they've made improbable runs before. They've reached the Horizon League finals five times in the last 11 years, claiming the 2007 title. While they were swept by Northern Kentucky and Valparaiso this season, they split a pair of games with top-seeded Oakland. … They lead the league in 3-point percentage (38.2) and 3-pointers per game (8.8). They're second in the conference and 19th nationally in free-throw percentage (76.4). Though they have only a plus-2.4 rebound margin per game, that's a big improvement over last year's minus-3.4 mark. … They're ninth in the league and 310th nationally with an average of 14.8 turnovers per game. They're also next-to-last in the conference and 293rd in the country in blocked shots per game (2.4).
About Northern Kentucky: The Norse were picked seventh in the league preseason poll but finished in a tie for third with Green Bay at 12-6. They're riding a three-game winning streak, knocking off Wright State, UIC and Valparaiso at home to finish the regular season. They shot 58 percent in the 82-78 win over Valpo, the highest percentage for a Crusaders opponent this season. … They're in their second year in the league and posted their first winning season in five years as a Division-I program. They made 13 NCAA D-II tournament trips, finishing as national runner-up in 1996 and '97. … They're 13-0 when scoring at least 80 points this year. … McDonald, who is averaging 7.6 rebounds, is a first-team all-league pick, while 6-5 forward Carson Williams, who is averaging 10.6 points, made the all-freshman team.
All-league pick: Mark Alstork became the 18th Wright State player to earn first-team all-league honors since 1992. Vaughn Duggins was the last to do it in 2011. Alstork is currently tied for second with Bill Edwards for most points scored as a junior at Wright State with 583. Seth Doliboa holds the record with 625.
