La Salle knocks off No. 25 Dayton Flyers

For the third straight season, the Dayton Flyers will spend one week in the top 25 and fall back into the “others receiving votes” section of the poll.

La Salle played stall ball and had great success, beating No. 25 Dayton 61-57 on Saturday at Tom Gola Arena. The Flyers led 43-36 with 7:52 to play, but La Salle took the lead with a 13-4 run.

The game was tied at 51-51 with under three minutes to play. La Salle, often not shooting until the final seconds of the shot clock, took control with an 8-1 run.

Dayton fell to 12-3 and 2-1 in the A-10. La Salle (5-8, 1-2) snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Charles Cooke led Dayton with 21 points. Jordan Price scored 17 for La Salle.
