Sinclair basketball standouts Amanda Schroeder and Sean McNeil have been named National Junior College Athletic Association Division II first team All Americans for the 2018-19 season.

Schroeder, a 6-foot sophomore from Carroll High School, led the nation in scoring at 26.4 points per game and set a new NJCAA scoring record with 1,703 career points and 26.2 per-game career average. The two-time Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year led the Tartan Pride to the national tournament this season, where Sinclair finished sixth.

In addition to points, Schroeder also owns Sinclair career marks in per-game average (26.2), field goals (601), free throws (341), free-throw percentage (86.8) and blocked shots (96). She also owns several single-game and single-season records at Sinclair.

Schroeder is the first women’s basketball player at Sinclair to earn first-team All-American honors.

McNeil, a 6-foot-4 freshman from Cooper High School in Union, Ky., led the nation in scoring at 29.7 ppg and 3-pointers made per game (4.3).

The OCCAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the year finished sixth nationally in free-throw percentage (87.6).

His 55 points against Bryant & Stratton on Nov. 17, 2018, set a Sinclair single-game scoring record. He scored 40 or more points six times.

A highly touted recruit, McNeil announced a list of six schools he’s considering — Dayton, Oregon, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Texas Tech and Ole Miss — on March 20.

Schroeder and McNeil are first pair of dual first-team All-Americans from the OCCAC since Amy Amstutz and Jon Powell of Owens in 1998-99.
