Reds fans hadn’t seen their team in Ohio in nine days, and if they blink this week, they will miss them. This series comes during a 21-day stretch in which the Reds play 16 games on the road and three at home. In a four-week stretch starting April 4, the Reds play 20 of 26 games on the road.
Even the next homestand — four games in four days against the San Francisco Giants May 3-6 — is a short one. The Reds don’t play two series in a row at home again until mid-May.

“It’s one of the challenges of this game that all teams deal with at some point,” Reds manager David Bell said. “It’s great to be here in Cincinnati. It doesn’t feel like we’ve been here a lot. We’ll make the most of these three days. Every challenge that comes up with a team, it’s just an opportunity to get better.”
