Dayton among teams showing interest in four-star center from Belmont

Dayton Flyers coach Anthony Grant visited Belmont High School to watch sophomore Shawn Phillips Jr. work out, according to a Twitter post on Wednesday by Apex Adidas Gold Gauntlet coach David Ramey.

Ramey shared photos of Grant with Phillips and Loyola assistant coach  Jermaine Kimbrough with Phillips.

Phillips, a 6-foot-10 center, is a four-star recruit in the 2022 class. He ranks 25th in the nation, according to Rivals.com., and 39th, according to 247Sports.com.

West Virginia coach Bob Huggins visited Phillips on Monday, according to Ramey.

Auburn offered Phillips a scholarship earlier this month. Xavier offered him a scholarship on Aug. 1. The Ohio Bobcats and DePaul also have offered him scholarships.
