What it means: Dayton (7-5) won a game away from UD Arena for the first time this season and won at the United Center for the first time after losses to Northwestern and Colorado in 2016 and 2019, respectively.

Star of the game: DaRon Holmes II led Dayton with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting. He scored Dayton’s only six points in the first eight minutes of the second half as Wyoming cut a 14-point halftime deficit to two points.
Stat of the game: Dayton made 7 of 16 3-pointers (44%). It has topped 40% three times in the last four games after not hitting that mark once in the first eight games.
Koby Brea made 2 of 5 3-pointers and scored 10 points after a breakout shooting performance (3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range) a week earlier against UNC Asheville.
Turning point: Dayton never lost the lead back to 11 points. Wyoming made another run to get as close as six points. Then it was all Dayton down the stretch. It outscored Wyoming 18-7 in the last 8:13.

The Flyers led by as many as 17 points in the first half and owned a 35-21 halftime advantage.
This is Dayton’s third game at the United Center and first since 2019. Here’s a quick recap of the first half:
Key players: Holmes II had 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting, and Toumani Camara scored 10 on 4-of-6 shooting. Both players had as many points (8) in the first nine minutes as Wyoming. Holmes also blocked two shots in the half.
Key stat: Dayton made 5 of 11 3-pointers. Camara made 2 of 4. Holmes, Mustapha Amzil and Zimi Nwokeji each made one.
Big run: Dayton scored 15 straight points to turn a 10-8 lead into a 25-8 lead at the 10:18 mark.
Foul trouble: Dayton guard Mike Sharavjamts picked up two fouls in the first four minutes and didn’t play the rest of the half.
Other scores: This was the third of four games at the United Center in the event. Northern Iowa beat Towson 83-66 in the first game. George Mason beat Tulane 62-56 in the second game. North Carolina State will play Vanderbilt in the final game of the day.
