Washington, a 6-foot-7 forward, attends Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. He transferred there this year after previously attending Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Ga.
Washington joins 6-8 forward DaRon Holmes, who ranks 36th in the Rivals.com rankings and announced his verbal commitment to Dayton on Saturday, and point guard Malachi Smith in UD’s 2021 recruiting class.
Washington announced Sept. 5 he would choose from a list of 11 schools: Dayton, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Iowa State and San Diego State.
“Washington is long and athletic with good position size and signs of tremendous potential,” recruiting analyst Adam Finkelstein said on Twitter. “But he’s not a finished product yet and needs to get more consistent. Dayton obviously has a strong recent track record of player development with the jumps Obi Toppin and others have made, and give the Flyers a ton of credit because they have maximized their recent success and used it to catapult their presence on the recruiting trail for what may end up being the best class in program history.”
Dayton offered Washington a scholarship in July. He’s a four-star recruit who ranks 90th in the class of 2021, according to Rivals.com. He ranks 89th in the 247Sports.com rankings.
Assuming Dayton doesn’t fill the one open scholarship in the 2020-21 season, it has two open for the 2021-22 season.
Also set to announce tonight is Kaleb Washington (@KalebWashingt0n), an ascending big wing with a lot of upside.

Washington is a skilled forward who will be able to create matchup problems with his versatility.
