Amaefule spent last season at East Tennessee State, where the 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward played in 19 games and scored 1.5 points in 8.3 minutes per game. The freshman also grabbed 2.4 rebounds per contest.
A native of London, England, in the United Kingdom, Amaeful graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas,
He also played at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas and Blue Ridge High School in St. George, Va., after moving to the United States.

Per his ETSU bio, Amaeful had interest from multiple Power 5 schools — including LSU and TCU — before choosing the Buccaneers as a three-star recruit.
He was a Rivals150 recruit early in his prep career but saw some of his recruiting momentum stall when an ankle injury forced him to miss his senior season.
When he committed to ETSU, Rivals reported his other finalists were New Mexico, San Diego and Western Kentucky.
WJHL in Johnson City, Tenn., reported last week Amaeful was the 10th ETSU player to enter the transfer portal after the resignation of coach Jason Shay.
Amaefule will be one of six newcomers to the UD roster this fall.
Last week, the Flyers added Georgia transfer Toumani Camara to go with freshmen DaRon Holmes, Malachi Smith, Kaleb Washington and Lynn Greer III.
