The Dayton Flyers arrived in New York City on Wednesday and have a practice planned Thursday at the Brooklyn Nets’ practice facility. They play in the quarterfinals at noon Friday at the Barclays Center.
Even if the games continue at the A-10 tournament and next week in the NCAA tournament, it appears most Dayton fans have seen their team play for the final time this season. Dayton Athletic Director Neil Sullivan addressed that and the entire situation in a statement released Thursday morning.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our country, the world and all those personally impacted by COVID-19,” Sullivan said. “We respect the medical experts and their conclusion that limiting large crowds at sporting events is one of the important steps in slowing the spread of the virus. As both a NCAA host and participant, we will move forward consistent with the current medical information and will continue to monitor and make adjustments as needed. We know Flyer fans everywhere will support our players who have worked so hard for this opportunity and give them our very best. We will share more information with our fans and our community when we have it.”
