Toppin dunked three times in the first half and seven times in the second half. Most of his dunks came on alley-oop passes.
Toppin set the previous school record of eight dunks last season against Detroit. The 31 points surpassed his previous career high of 29, which he had against Indiana State in the season opener in November. He's averaging 19.8 points in 13 games.
Toppin made 15 of 24 field goals and had eight rebounds in 32 minutes.
No. 20 Dayton finished the non-conference schedule with a mark of 11-2. It opens Atlantic 10 Conference play at 7 p.m. Thursday at La Salle (9-3).

Trey Landers added 15 points for Dayton. Jalen Crutcher scored 11.
Dayton shot 50 percent from the field and forced 21 turnovers. North Florida trailed by as many as 24 points. It made 12 of 28 3-pointers.

HALFTIME RECAP
Landers and Toppin each scored 11 points to lead the Flyers to a 42-28 halftime lead.
Playing the last of 13 non-conference games, Dayton shot 55 percent and led by as many as 18 points. North Florida made two 3-pointers after falling behind 40-22 at the 1:18 mark. Toppin dunked an alley-oop pass from Ibi Watson in the final seconds of the half.
North Florida, which ranks 34th in the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (37.4), made 6 of 15 (40 percent) in the half. Dayton made 3 of 8.
Dayton outscored North Florida 20-0 in fast-break points and had a 20-13 rebounding advantage.
Dayton guard Rodney Chatman left the game after hitting his head after a hard fall.
