Dayton Flyers coach Shauna Green named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year

Dayton Flyers coach Shauna Green won the Atlantic 10 Conference Coach of the Year award for the second time in four years on Thursday.

Green led Dayton to the regular-season championship with a 15-1 record. She was also named the coach of the year in 2018, her second season.

Dayton senior Jayla Scaife made the A-10 first team. Erin Whalen made the second team. Araion Bradshaw joined Scaife on the all-defensive team.

The other major awards were:

• Fordham’s Bre Cavanaugh was named the A-10 Player of the Year.

• VCU’s Danielle Hammond was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

•  VCU’s Madison Hattix-Covington received the Sixth Woman of the Year honor.

• Saint Louis senior Kendra Wilken won the Most Improved Player award.

• Davidson’s Suzi-Rose Deegan was named Rookie of the Year.
