On Saturday, four-star recruit DaRon Holmes, who ranks 36th in the Rivals.com rankings, announced his verbal commitment to Dayton, joining Malachi Smith in UD’s 2021 recruiting class.

Assuming Dayton doesn’t fill the one open scholarship in the 2020-21 season, it has three open for the 2021-22 season.
Washington announced Sept. 5 he would choose from a list of 11 schools: Dayton, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Iowa State and San Diego State.
Dayton offered Washington a scholarship in July. He’s a four-star recruit who ranks 90th in the class of 2021, according to Rivals.com. He ranks 89th in the 247Sports.com rankings. Recruiting analyst Russ Wood, of Rivals.com, predicts Washington will choose Dayton. Wood has correctly predicted 240 of the 262 forecasts he has made.
